The 10-foot units are CSC certified and can be connected together to make a 20-foot equivalent unit (TEU 1). This gives them the handling and transport advantage of a standard 20-foot ISO.
In order to optimize transport, the other measures are designed to fit one inside the other and can be transported in this way, reducing transportation costs per unit. These are the Russian dolls of containers.
They come in many dimensions, the most common being 10′, 8′ and 6′.
